Just for You Pam

Roni ODonnell
Can't believe it was almost two years ago you came into our lives. As I always told you I believe God brings us all together for a reason.

You lost your mother and came home to take care of your father. It had only been about five months since your mother passed. You were sort of lost not knowing where you'd be working but they found you a position in the photo lab along with the other nuts.

You were such a character that you fit right in. You had your rough times remembering your mom and missing her. We were there for you. That's why you came. You really missed your home in Texas but you were ours. We wanted to keep you. You hung in there.

A few months later I lost my father. That was so hard on me but you got me through. You talked me through many rough days. Just as I did you. I was meant to be there for you and you were there for me. I know you were one person there for my needs that I could truly relate to at the moment.

You have a wonderful 13 year old son and an older one I never got to meet but you were so proud of them. You were a great mother. I always admired your love and strength for the two young men you raised alone. You should have been very proud.

Before you knew you were sick you went back to Texas to see those grandchildren. As we both know, grandchildren are a blessing and a half. You had so much fun and took so many pictures. I later made you a book. Maybe more for your family. You loved it.

We were always a family in that photo lab. We had our rough times and our partying times. We had so much fun. We all had our disagreements but we were still great friends. We especially loved karaoke.

Then you became ill and it turned out to be cancer. So we all prayed with all our hearts and souls that God would do everything to make you well. That he would do the best for you. So he did.

Yesterday he decided to take you home with him and your mother. We are all being a little selfish and upset now. We know you are happy and no longer suffering. You really didn't give us a chance to say good bye but that was for a reason too. God wanted to take you quickly after he let you touch out lives so briefly.

Thank you so much God for sharing Pam with us. Thanks so much for letting her be a reason in our lives. Thanks so much for doing what was best for her.

I lost a friend recently to esophageal cancer. He was only 51. He wouldn't let me know, a friend told me, because he didn't want to worry me. Wow...

Beautiful! I know the feeling when a dear friend passes, as I lost one from our church recently. She was sweet and so humble. Great article with lots of heart.
