Just Say Anything

An Off-the-cuff Poem

I had it all prepared,
I swear,
and neatly folded,
sealed into
a neat four cornered
thought.

Custom made
to wow the crowd,
well rehearsed
and polished to a shine.
Sublime.

But now I'm standing here
shivering and bare,
the pages blown away and
hidden in the perfect
crease of shadows
only snow blind days can bring.

White
on white
on white . . .

Blink

and I'm gone.
