Just Some Random Thoughts

I've probably said this before, but it is worth repeating: just because someone else is mad at you, doesn't mean you have to be mad back. Besides, this is Christmas. Yes, I said Christmas. You should too, if you want to.

Relax. It's Sunday. If you are one of the lucky ones who has a job to go to tomorrow and wasn't pink slipped last Friday, be glad you have that job, even if it is one you hate. So relax, even if it is just for a little bit. Go do something fun. Have a puppet show with your kids.

If you have children (or grandchildren) in public school, find out if that school system has insurance covering students' accidents. I found out that mine has only had this for the past year and a half. I am also finding out that the one it does have is pretty lame. I adore their disclaimer in their 'on hold' message: "The quoting of benefits does not guarantee payment."

Oh, and only ten short days until Christmas, and then the madness is over, and we can look forward to the New Year celebrations.

Nine days left. Make sure you put some change in the bell-ringer's pot, even if it just pennies. Every little bit helps. If only half of the people in the USA gave one dollar to charity, things would be back on track for so many Americans who have lost jobs, benefits, and the money that comes with that job and benefits. Most of those who have lost jobs didn't do it to themselves, not in this economic fiasco. If you don't see why you should help out, just remember, it could have been you who got pink slipped just as easily as it was someone else. It's all the luck of the draw.

Sign up to get your coupons for your digital converter box. Go to DTV2009.gov to sign up to get two coupons per household. $40 off a box, each coupon. The last day to apply for coupons is March 31, 2009, but supplies of the coupons might run out before then, according to the government's website, but on their first page, it states the last day is December 31, 2008. I've applied for mine, you should, too, ASAP. Every household, regardless of income is eligible to receive two coupons. Nursing home residents are also eligible, but need to fill out another form, which must be mailed in. This form, currently, states on the form itself, that the last date to apply is March 31, 2009. Remember, though, if you get pay TV services for any of your TV sets, there is no need to apply for a coupon, as you aren't eligible.

No, you can't panic yet. You still have a week before Christmas. No panicking yet. None. Be calm. You still have time. You're here reading this, aren't you?

Make up a to-do list, an on-going list, and keep it in your pocket. It's only six more days to Christmas, and things are going to start getting hectic now. Still, don't panic, even though you want to, and probably have good reason to do so. Just think to yourself, one more week and it's over, one more week and it's over, one more week....... You get another chance to have a 'perfect Christmas' next year, so don't worry about 'disappointing' anyone too overly much. Remember, Christmas is supposed to be about family and love and peace and non-material things...... It's about things that you can't buy, but that you have to create from your own heart.

Good thoughts. I've never been good at keeping up a diary.
