Just a Thought or Two

Mrs.Rogers
Have you ever just sat and watched someone? Have you ever just wondered what their home life must be like or what they have to deal with at home? Well, I have been catching myself doing this very thing at least more times than I care to admit.

People can be very strange, and sometimes they can appear as jerks. I have seen people push their way through supermarkets, stores or some place. I guess they think that being pushy is the only way they are going to get anywhere in life. It is a shame though, because they do not have the right way of thinking, if you ask me.
I have found that children can be either the most quietest or the most rambunctious, if given an opportunity.

Having to work in schools, I find that they cutest kids can be the down right meanest or the biggest trouble makers around. First impression is, "Oh, aren't they precious", while the last though of them are"Oh my goodness, ?" Isn't it funny how looks can be deceiving?

There are those people you run across, that smell, or are not dressed well, they are in rags or mismatched outfits, their shoes are torn, and they look like they own no mirrors. Your first thought is"EUHH", but then you start to realize that they have feelings too, and that maybe , just maybe they are less fortunate then you are, maybe they are homeless or come from a battered home. Then you feel bad for feeling that first gut reaction, you know the one that says, "Get me away from this person"!

Is it not so real to life watching a mother controlling her child's tantrum, or watching a person struggle to find their money? We all can share in those memories we have had ourselves. I find that when sometimes I am feeling sorry for myself , all I have to do is look at someone, just about anyone, and their life is not all that great either, and maybe they have a better reason to feel bad than I do.

I really hate the folks you see that act like you are beneath them, they look you up one side and down the other, all the while keeping this look on their face of disdain. Who do they think they are? Are they better than me? I think not.

Watching those couples, walking around holding hands and kissing, all while looking at each other with that"I love you forever" look. Aw, isn't it sweet, sometimes too sweet, but mainly too false. I mean we all love our spouses and boyfriends, etc, but it is not realistic to think there will never be hard times or trials, or even hurtful times.

Life in general is truly amazing. It is what we make of it, and how we go about dealing with each and every milestone. We can choose to live in our pasts, or we can gracefully trudge onward. Taking every opportunity given our way, is what we need to do. Making this one life, the best life possible for ourselves and those around us.

Life is good, live it well.

Thanks for reading, while I was vent-writing.

Being a mother of three lovely children. I love to write if it will help others, and if it is read and enjoyed by others. Writing is like therapy for me. When I write my emotions come across and I believe...  View profile

Interesting analysis. Our society is far too focused on looks and materialism

Look-ism starts early. I agree with you, it's important to see people for more than looks.

Excellent rant, and I feel ya! I hate stuck-up people with a passion! Did you realize most snobs have something seriously wrong with them, though? Hence the put-on of superiority! It's actually pretty sad, when you think about it.
