A Poem
Just for today,
I will live my life.
All of my trauma,
I will leave behind.
Just for today,
I will love myself.
Look beyond the scars,
of my youth gone wild.
Just for today,
I will pay attention.
See all of the things,
that I have been missin.
Just for today,
I will be open-minded.
No visions of the past,
I won't be reminded.
Just for today,
I will be willing.
To let go and let God,
own this powerless feeling.
All of this I promise ME;
but I need his hands
to shelter me
Just for today.
