Just for Tonight - a Halloween Poem

Julie Rule
Just for tonight, you get to be a little wild
Dress in something that you would never wear
Put on a wig and plenty of crazy makeup
Try some colors that don't belong in your hair

Just for tonight, you get to be someone else
The superhero you always dreamed of being
Maybe an actress, an athlete, a rock star
Or a politician you love or hate seeing

Just for tonight, you can enjoy playing a role
Not worry about what other people think
Just wear a great mask and act out a part
Maybe play a game and have a colorful drink

Just for tonight, you can have fun observing
Take in costumes, from elegant to obscene
Pretend that you're really chatting with Batman
And look forward again to next Halloween

What a fun poem, evocative of the spirit of Halloween! (Looks like we are neighbors... I live in La Grange Park, too!) Good job!
