Most likely, the reader of this article has not yet heard of the Venus Project.
For those who are just plain curious about what this term refers to, it has nothing at all to do with the planet, not withstanding, when you find out about the idea it might seem about as far out there as the outer reaches of the galaxy.
This is because the Venus Project is a new direction for society and it is like nothing that has been tried before.
We come from different cultures and viewpoints but I think we can all agree on the need for change. The sytem is simply is not functional, the way it is. If the system does not work, and it doesn't, then we need to change it. What are the conditions that are causing war and hunger and poverty? Why do we have 5% of the population owning 95% of the world's wealth? These are the relevant questions people are asking today.
Every human comes into this world needing food, shelter, water and to be loved. The earth and nature itself gives these resources to all of us. Therefore these resources must be declared available to every person on earth. Nature has given us a clear pattern to follow, it reveals its symbiotic relationship as the primary clue as to how we might structure society cohesively, and in such a way that all might benefit. If we are to continue down the path we are on, needless to say, society is bound to disintegrate.
This is where the Venus Project comes in. The Venus Project is nothing less than a total redesign of society. New cities designed that are up to date with present information. The environment is changing and society needs to change along with it. The Venus Project is, in a single definition, the application of the scientific method for social concern. We are not informed as to the true state of technology because there is no profit for anyone to do so. This is why we have never given scientists the problem of how do we design a culture that designs out the problems of boring, monotonous jobs that don't benefit society. The Venus Project proposes to do just that. There would be no need for an old monetary system in this society because it would stand in the way of both human and technological innovation The goals and aims of the Venus Project would be to build new cities that design out war and scarcity and greed in order to transform society from the old and uncivilized way, that it has always been to a more organized, balanced, just, sustainable way of life, that reflects present knowledge.
I will leave the reader to chew over this new information presented here and will introduce more ideas of the Venus Project in the future.
