Justin Bieber on "Glee"

Teen Stars that Should Be in the Blockbuster Show

Candice Cain
The cast of "Glee" that are featured as high school students aren't going to have their young looks for much longer. After all, it already looks like a few cast members should be in their second year of college. There is a variety of teen stars that can sing, dance and act. Why not place a few of these teenagers as students at McKinley High?

Justin Bieber
For those of you that didn't see the episode of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" that featured Justin Bieber as a guest star, you really missed out. Bieber played Jason McCann, a teen in attendance at an anti-government rally and exhibiting anger toward police for arresting his and his older brother's caretaker. Bieber ends up actually being one of the bad guys, though viewers don't realize it until the last five minutes of the episode-- Demonstrating that Bieber really does have some acting chops. The kid can sing, dance and act - a true triple threat - and he is still a teenager. Not only is he a teenager, but he looks like he can actually be a freshman in high school. Perhaps it would be wise for the "Glee" producers to set their sights on Bieber to enter the freshman class at McKinley High next Fall.

Selena Gomez
While Disney superstar Selena Gomez will soon be out of her teen years, she still looks pretty young. There is no reason that the "Wizards of Waverly Place" star couldn't come to McKinley as Santana's younger sister or cousin. After all, Santana seems to have cornered the market of hot latinas at McKinley high. In a sea of blondes, Santana is the Cheerio that stands out the most because of her dark features. Why not give Santana some real competition? Then, when Santana does graduate, Selena's character will still have a year or two left to herself as La Chica Numero Uno.

Miley Cyrus
Yes, Miley Cyrus may be the antithesis of everything "Glee", she is also a triple threat. She proved in "The Last Song" that she can act outside of her "Hannah Montana" persona. It would be nice if she could appear as a less-than-outgoing transfer student with a serious set of pipes-- Geeky, if you will. Let's break the "Hannah Montana" stereotype of Miley before she goes the way of Lindsay Lohan. Now, if she could put the bong down and take a role on "Glee" seriously, perhaps we would get somewhere...

Luke Benward
Obscure teen actor and singer Luke Benward is a star waiting to shine. He has appeared in several movies and television shows, and also has his own album. He's cute, charming, down-to-earth and just 15 years old. Maybe he isn't a triple threat like some "Glee" cast members but, hey, neither is Cory Monteith. With this kid's looks, voice and acting skills, he would be an amazing asset to "Glee". Plus, because of his age and the way he looks, he would be able to last an entire four years at McKinley. Who knows? Perhaps he could be the dumb kid that gets left back a year and stays for five seasons instead of four!

Let's not forget the rejected contestants from "So You Think You Can Dance", "American Idol" and "America's Got Talent". These teenagers are dying to get their break, and they are certainly talented enough to do so. "Glee" runs these bizarre casting calls to fins unknown talent, when all they have to do is look at kids that just haven't made it yet. And, if "Glee" producers are looking to tap into an even larger market than they already have, they should look to landing a serious teen superstar for more than one episode to tap into the teen and tween viewer demographic.

Deb, you COMPLETELY missed the point of this article. No, Santana doesn't stand out because of her dark looks. If you are going to quote me, please don't take it out of context. I wrote, "the Cheerio that stands out the most because of her dark features." Haven't you noticed that there aren't any other Latina girls on the Cheerios? Good grief-- It wasn't saying that she stands out on the SHOW because she's Latina. I recommend you read things a bit more thoroughly before commenting.

Miley Cyrus is a triple threat? I hsve yet to see her bust any type of move that appears to have any type of rhythm. She acts? I must have missed that "talent."

Also, the character of Santana stands out because of her dark looks?? I never realized that she stood out because she is darker than the rest of the cheerleaders. I would love to hear the reason why Mercedes stands out on the show.
