Justin Bieber was just 12 years-old, living with his parents in Canada, when he posted some music videos on You Tube. Bieber says he mostly posted the videos of him performing to share with friends and family. However, it wouldn't be long before Usher and Justin Timberlake apparently heard about the videos, and wanted to know more about the singer in them. Of Usher, Bieber revealed that he met the superstar in a parking lot, and was initially shoo-ed off. But when Usher saw the videos a week or two later, Bieber says, "I went and sang for him."
On today's "The View", the ladies showed a clip of an early Justin Bieber video, where the then 12 year-old singer belted out Aretha Franklin's "RESPECT" with more soul than should be possible to come from a pre-pubescent white boy from Canada. It's no wonder Usher was taken aback, and wanted to meet with Bieber and see what he was capable of.
A few short years later, Bieber is a platinum-selling artist on his way to releasing his second major-label album. Bieber's debut, "My World", dropped just last year to outstanding reviews and rapid performance on music charts. His first singles off "My World" charted on the top tiers of Canadian Hot 100 charts and the US Billboard Hot 100 within the first few weeks of sales. (Chart ratings - Wikipedia)
When he was asked about school, Bieber explained he is tutored on the road, and he does sometimes miss the "normal" school experience. However, Bieber expressed an understanding that you have to work for what you want. Of his whirlwind schedule and success, Justin Bieber said, "This is just an amazing experience, and I'm having so much fun."
Bieber got the crowd riled up and momentarily flustered "The View" hosts when he openly flirted with Barbara Walters. Walters blushed and responded she was sure he was just being polite, to which Bieber raised a coy eyebrow and smiled at her in a way only a 16 year-old boy can get away with.
Justin Bieber also spoke to the "View" ladies about his new album on Monday morning's show, to be released tomorrow. The new, hotly anticipated Justin Bieber album, "My World 2.0" follows up "My World", which was released in Nov. of 2009. "My World: 2.0" is considered part of the young star's two-album debut that will be complete when the new record drops tomorrow.
Justin Bieber gave the audience of "The View" a taste of his new tunes Monday when he performed his first single off "My World 2.0", titled "Never Let You Go". Bieber exhibited a maturity well beyond his years, both during his performance, through his lyrics and of course, through his modest, adorable personality that has sent tween-age fans (and parents of tween-age fans) everywhere swooning.
Justin Bieber is set to return to "The View" for another interview segment and musical performance tomorrow, Tuesday, 3/23/2010. Stay tuned for more Bieber Fever!
