Justin Bieber Rushed to Hospital from CSI Set

Allergic Reaction Leaves Pop Star Justin Bieber Short of Breath

Justin Bieber can make preteens breathless with just a shake of his head.

However, the teen heartthrob had trouble breathing on his own Wednesday evening, January 12th, while filming an episode of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" in near Los Angeles. Justin Bieber was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for a severe allergic reaction.

Justin Bieber was treated and released in less than an hour at Providence St. Joseph's Hospital, in Burbank, California. His own physician met Justin Bieber at the hospital. Justin Bieber's rumored girlfriend Selena Gomez (of "The Wizards of Waverly Place"), who apparently recently tossed away her purity ring, was not seen at the hospital during his brief stay.

The 16-year-old fair-haired Canadian pop star (and Usher protégé) returned to the "CSI" set, apparently in good health again. Filming was set to wrap on January 14th for the young singer and actor's scenes on the television drama.

"Ok last day on the set as a #badass. Gonna get deadly today," Justin Bieber tweeted, as he headed back to the "CSI" television production set.

Having appeared in a guest spot as a troubled teen on the 2010 season premiere of "CSI," Justin Bieber was on-set for production of a follow-up episode of the popular police procedural and forensics drama. The "CSI" installment featuring Justin Bieber, reprising his character from the season premiere, is scheduled to air on Thursday, February 17, 2011.

This new episode is titled, "Targets of Obsession." How appropriate for a young pop star, with his cadre of clamoring young fans.

With the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards coming up on Sunday, January 16th, Justin Bieber is still planning to make an appearance as a presenter. Additional Golden Globes presenters include Sandra Bullock, Zac Efron, Andrew Garfield, Jennifer Lopez, Robert Pattinson, Hailee Steinfeld, Olivia Wilde and more.

To what is Justin Bieber allergic?

The source of Justin Bieber's allergic reaction has not been disclosed, although one might assume from his respiratory symptoms that the allergy may be anaphylactic. Justin Bieber is an avid skateboarder, and he loves to dance and play the trumpet, so his breathing capacity must be adequate most of the time.

Justin Bieber has a dog, who happens to be a Papillon named Sammy (not Shawty), so he must not be allergic to canine dander.

The young pop star confesses that he suffers from claustrophobia, and he is home-schooled, so his lifestyle may be somewhat sheltered. Has Justin Bieber had serious allergic reactions in the past, or has he simply not yet encountered whatever set off the heartthrob's histamines this time?

Perhaps Justin Bieber accidentally ate shellfish, peanuts, chocolate or another common allergen on-set. Maybe he suffered a bee sting, a spider bite or some other mishap. Whatever the cause of Justin Bieber's allergy woes, his fans can bet the young pop star and aspiring actor will be packing an epi-pen on his next gig.
