Justin Bieber was on CSI, but Should He Stick to Singing?

Is Acting for Him?

Justin Bieber on CSI appeared for the season premiere, as reported at MTV. The 16-year-old mega teen played a troubled youth linked to a bomb plot against the Las Vegas Police Department.

Taking on acting pursuits is a good idea for a 16-year-old who won't be 16 forever

Justin Bieber is a mega sensation right now. Trouble is, he's still growing. When he becomes an adult, all the teens who follow him now will be adults as well. They'd have moved on to more mature performers. Bieber won't attract the age of the kids he attracts now when he's an adult. The teens of the future will follow some other teen sensation, who is yet to be determined. Life goes on. People grow up. So what does a Justin Bieber do about that other than spend the money he amassed as a teen pop star?

Acting is a popular choice. Justin Timberlake has followed this path. He was part of the boy band N'Sync, then released solo music and now he appears in movies such as The Social Network. Joe Jonas of the boy band Jonas Brothers appeared in Hot In Cleveland with Valerie Bertinelli and Betty White. Justin Bieber on CSI getting his feet wet in the acting pool is a good long range goal when his short range goal is over.

But can he act?

Justin Bieber on CSI played a troubled teen in a dark role. The door has been left open for this character to be developed. MTV reports that Bieber will return to CSI in a February show.

But can Justin Bieber act? Did he appear stiff in the role or relaxed in the role? For some, it's a matter of opinion. And if he wasn't as great as he could have been, acting classes and experience can take care of that. The most popular teen in America, and probably the world, no doubt brought in lots of new viewers to CSI. But is CSI's target audience teenage girls?

At the MTV VMA's Justin sang, he danced, he played the drums, and now he's an actor. Justin Bieber has shown that he is a multi-talented performer who could be on the market for a while.

Kenzy, he's no Shia LaBeouf, that's for sure. LaBeouf was an excellent actor when he was a child and he continues to be an excellent actor in his 20's. I just saw the new "Wall Street" movie and Shia deserves an Oscar nod. And yes, CSI made a brilliant move.

I wasn't impressed with his acting and neither was my 17 year old daughter who must be the only teenage girl NOT in love with him. I'm not sure he has a career in acting, but I do think CSI: was smart to use his superstar status to their advantage.

There are always opportunities to learn and grow - sounds like a good start as an actor.
