Juvenile Delinquents

Evette
Juvenile delinquency is a national crisis
Unfortunately innocent girls and boys are
Victims of society's predators as
Each child has a unique story
Non-violent and violent crimes committed
Incarceration may be where it ends
Loved one's hearts ache from their loss
Endlessly fighting for the child's justice

Does their age matter
Each response differs as we
Lose our children daily
In the adult court system
New state laws in the making
Questionably we pray, hope, wait
Unsure of each child's fate as
Every crime is measured
No doubt each child is accountable
Trying to maintain their dignity while
Silently abused, neglected, forgotten

    Nicely done, Evette.
Our youth are entering the crimminal justice system at an alarming rate. Which is why I think Civil rights organizations, like the NAACP, would be better served by concentrating their energies on solving societal problems affecting our youth, like juvenile crime, teen-age pregnacies, drugs and alcohol abuse, and the high school drop-out rate among African americans, as opposed to worrying about confederate battle emblems at state houses in the South.
