Ask any adult 35 or older if they remember so many of their age mates struggling with juvenile obesity and the answer will be a resounding "no!" Childhood obesity has become one of the top national health concerns for parents. Why is juvenile obesity so prevalent? How can you differentiate between a serious weight problem and childhood belly fat that will be shed in the teen years? What are the culprits in juvenile obesity? How can we stem the rising tide of obesity in children? Royal Oak Public Library is offering a class on juvenile diabetes Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Friends Room. This class will be helpful in addressing parental concerns, so come prepared with questions. If you are planning to attend, please register at the following link.
