K2 or Fake Weed-New Dangerous Drug More and More Popular with Teens-Law Enforcement Powerless-The Drug is Legal
Users claim K2 can get them as high as marijuana. Because chemicals used in K2 are synthetic and different from THC, they are not subjected to the present drug regulations allowing K2 to be legal in the United States. The drug is available throughout the country since 2006. It retails for approximately $10 per gram and can be purchased online and in incense stores.
Most often, K2 is smoked like marijuana rolled into cigarette. It is also smoked from pipes. It is more potent than most varieties of marijuana. Several kinds are sold in stores with different flavors and with names like Standard, Blue, Blonde, Summit, Pink, Genie and Citron. It is mainly produced in China and in Korea where it is sold as stimulant for plant growth. Its manufacturer is unknown and has so far remained a mystery.
Because K2 is a mixture of herbal and spice plants, teens and young adults believe that it is safe. However, the drug is sprayed with psychotic drug similar to THC and may be highly contaminated.
K2 is also very dangerous, in fact, much more dangerous than marijuana. It has many negative effects. Among reported adverse effects are hallucinations and delusions, blurry vision, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, increased agitation, pale skin, elevated blood pressure, fast heart beat, even seizures and loss of consciousness.
According to experts, ingredients in K2 are more potent than marijuana's THC. With its brain-altering effects, K2 can be catastrophic causing irreversible damage to the brain. In absence of any studies, its long-term effects are also not known at this time. Cases of K2 smokers passing out have also been reported.
There is no quality control or strict regulation for the drug. So far, K2 is also understudied. No human toxicology studies have been done. According to Drug Enforcement Administration, K2 causes in mice, among other things, partial paralysis and lower body temperature.
K2 does not show on standard marijuana drug tests and other drug tests. And even if it showed, it would not be punishable by law because it is legal. Some states are trying to introduce legislation to ban the drug, among them Kansas and Missouri. The United States Army banned K2 for soldiers and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration has categorized it as the drug "of concern."
In most countries of continental Europe and in Scandinavian countries, K2 is banned. Also, Germany, France, Great Britain, Russia and Poland are working on the legislature to ban the sale of synthetic cannabis.

Post a Commentbin smkn dro since i was 12 im 30 and i just started smkn k2 i bet u this #$%$ gonna kill sum1 lol #$%$ the government made it! just like X theyl take it bk, marry aint bad i never heard voices fkn wit her but k2 now diff story bet we'll get weed legalized after #$%$ go dwn with k2. NEVER TRUST THE GOVERNMENT OR WHAT THEY GIVE YOU! but in the meantime i guess k2 will do i mean tell me u aint dun worse..............
I smoked K2 just about everyday for 4 months. I wish I never started. The high is super addicting. One night I took two hits of K2 from my pipe and collapsed on the floor. I started having a seizure. Its been 8 months since I last smoked it and everyday I have panic attacks and a increased heart beat. The brain damage is true, my memory is shot There are parts of my life I don't remember. I have tried to see doctors about this, but since its so new nobody knows whats going on. I would recommend shooting yourself in the foot before smoking K2. It was the worst decision of my life.
Of course there should be age restrictions on k2 incense, as with tobacco and alcohol, but these bans are just another knee-jerk reaction by our Government to control what we can and cannot do. They were passing emergency bans and proclaiming danger before they even knew anything at all about it. These guys, http://www.buyk2incense.com claim to have k2 incense products that aren't restricted in any state by any current ban. So as you see, not only are these petty bans exhausting resources we don't have, they are pretty much useless! It's just going to continue to morph and the authorities are going to continue wasting time and money. People will still buy k2 incense. And so on and so on. Same old cycle.
Maybe if they would make pot legal then no one would have to worry about any of this. I love how they say that "K2 is also very dangerous, in fact, much more dangerous than marijuana" I don't see pot as a threat to anyone. Especially since it's legal for medical ailments. Why would it be given to cancer patients if it was in fact, dangerous? People are so concerned with all these new drugs coming out. It could be avoided if they just legalize pot!
I have tried this spice stuff personally. My heart raced, body felt numb, I was shaking uncontrolably and I thought I was going to stop breathing. I was in a car at the time and the other person was smoking as well. All I remember was begging him not to move the car. At some point I thought my life flashed before my eyes because I thought that I was dying. The next day I suffered from intense headaches. DONT DO IT.....I am fearful that the more media attention that this stuff get the more people will do it. The media was the only reason why I knew about it. Also the drug only takes seconds to work, and two hits will get you beyond high. I took four hits at the time of my episode. This stuff is not weed. So I repeat DO NOT DO IT
I smoked k2 and it did give me the feeling of death, i litteraly thought i was dying, I had no control and I did get a very high heart rate and pale color and was puking.... this article is right and I have experienced it
This article is fear-based propaganda. Its effectively a push poll. It will drive conservative zealots to the voting booth and keep the criminals in charge of our personal freedom. Nevermind the fact the there are NO FACTUAL studies that say consuming 'spice' is any different than most popular prescription drugs(check the side effects of spice vs. any anti-depression drug: they are essentially the same, with prescriptions usually carrying worse side effects. Trust me on this people, this article is a hit-piece. Pharm companies want to be the only suppliers of drugs and their lobbyists are the ones behind pushing for prohibition. The 'war-on-drugs' is nonsensical. More and more all it does is destroy the lives of folks who weren't hurting anyone. And anyone screaming 'what about the children?' is just trying to trick you. There is no spice epidemic now, and there isn't one coming. Actually there is an epidemic with children.. there are more kids on prescr
the first time i had chew i was nausious. i puked and was dizzy.
same with alcohol
same with cigerettes.
i bet even micdonalds can make some kids nautious dizzy heart race increase and even vomit!
you guys say"more dangerous than marijuana" so i guess that puts it right up there with some vitamins and drinking too much water! LMAO. you journalists these days are a JOKE!
give us some facts. i could have went to FOX to hear this crap
You know what's sad... Everyone is so... worried about how dangerous this new drug is, but forget to think that it's the government makes marijuanna illegal, but more dangerous drugs such as cigs, K2, and alcohol. Great choice!!! Follow this link http://www.timesnews.net/article.php?id=9026341 I understand that not everyone is going to agree w/ K2, but seriously this is the problem we have ahead of us. Apposing K2 is understandable, but we all need to just accept different strokes for different folks. This behavior is more dangerous than any new drug...
