Kal Penn Plays a Robin’s Therapist on ‘How I Met Your Mother: The Stinson Missile Crisis’

After Kal Penn's sudden leaving of "House" to join the staff at the White House under Obama. He has now left the White House to get back into acting. For his fans, this is a good thing.

On October 3, 2011, episode of "How I Met Your Mother," Kal Penn joined the cast as Robin's therapist. A bit of his character from "House" and from his movies of "Harold and Kumar" show through with his current character.

While he may or may not appear in every episode this season, he definitely will be returning with each of Robin's therapy sessions which occurred after attacking a blonde she sent to the restaurant where Barney and Nora was having dinner.

"How I Met Your Mother" is a good fit for Penn since he can play a serious and a comical role which we have seen him do in the past. While it is sad he decided to leave his latest position in politics, it is a happy thing to see him back in front of the camera where this fan feels he belongs.
