I was interested in if there was such a great difference with this brand but I had no desire to go out of my way to seek out that brand, especially since I was happy with the brands I use and because my wallet is a large factor in my decision of the brand I buy.
My stevia stock was low and I had an Amazon.com gift card so I went there to find my next stevia purchase. It turned out KAL brand was the best price at $18.89 for 3.5 ounces. Only about $5.40 for an ounce. That is a really good price.
My first attempt at trying KAL Pure Stevia extract powder was in some Bilberry tea I made. I used the tiny scoop that it came with, which was equal to the tiny scoop in my last brand (42mg.) I put one even scoop in the full glass of tea and I almost keeled over from the sweetness from the one tiny scoop.
It seemed to be true beyond what I imagined, KAL brand stevia extract powder was way sweeter than any brand I have ever purchased. After the first try in the tea I was still a bit skeptical so I added the same exact amount of my old brand to another glass of tea. I could barely taste the sweetness. The difference between the two was amazing. And, both brands were 100% pure stevia extract. None of them had fillers.
While it is nice that KAL brand stevia is so much more incredibly sweet in comparison to any other. I am just a tiny bit disappointed because now I have to adjust everything I put stevia in and it has to be adjusted a lot. That tiny scoop in the glass of tea was beyond sweet. I had to keep diluting it.
The sweetness is overwhelming if you add too much but the nice thing is that the KAL brand does not have the bitterness that some stevia newbie's complain about. It just turns sweeter, without the bitter.
The scoop, tiny as it is, is only adequate for possibly baking or large items you want to sweeten but for a single glass of tea, cocoa or anything like that, just start with a slight dusting and slowly add more as you feel you need sweetness.
This is not your average brand of stevia. With the strong sweetness difference this container will go so much farther than possibly any brand I have ever purchased. I do plan on buying again if I can calculate and adjust the measurements right for my average stevia recipes I make.
