The swap meet can offer many great things for the everyday consumer. Many times you can get things there that are way below what the stores are charging. The one swap meet that I particularly enjoy is the Kam Drive Inn Swap Meet located in Aiea on the island of Oahu situated right across the street from Pearlridge Shopping Center. This swap meet location used to be an old drive-in theater, but since the theater shut down it has been mainly used for the swap meet.

For starters let me just tell you that if you are expecting a nice clean place then this is not for you, but if you want great deals then you definitely need to check it out. There is an entrance fee to get in to the swap meet, but if you go later in the day towards the end of the day you can get in for free and will probably have an easier shot at bargaining with the vendors as they are likely to want to get rid of some of their wares.

Some of the things you can find there are perfumes and lotions from some name brand companies which are not in Hawaii, but are very popular. If you are in need of such items you can check out one of the many vendors there. One of the other things that I found that was great was trading cards. In the stores, such cards like Pokemon go for $15 for a few packs. At the swap meet you can find boxes of thirty cards for $2 and you can usually strike a deal with the vendors. This can save you a lot of money if you have a child in your house that is a big fan of these cards.

You can also get other things such as T-shirts, vegetables, electronics and such at pretty good prices. However, beware that some of the electronics are at your own risk if they do not work when you get home. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the Kam Drive Inn swap meet and if you are on Oahu visiting or live here then it could be just your answer to saving some hard earned money. If you get a chance to I would check it out, they are open several times a week, but I would call in advance to make sure that they will in fact be open. Check it out and save some money today!
