Kandi Burruss Fiancee Ashley "A.J." Jewell Died - Possible Murder Charges
Kandi's official Twitter page KandiConnection has not been updated about ex-fiance A.J.'s death. Kandi's last tweet came in at around 7PM EST on Friday night, presumably before she learned of A.J.'s tragic passing.
Burruss, an award-winning singer-songwriter and former member of the '90s R&B group Xscape, became a popular cast mate on the "Real Housewives of Atlanta". This was Kandi's first season on the show, joining Southern belles NeNe, Sheree, Kim and Lisa. The "Real Housewives of Atlanta" is still airing, the latest episode showed A.J. attending Kandi's comeback event as she tries to revive her music career. The couple was planning a wedding during the taping of the show.
A.J. Jewell, involved in the music business himself, passed away after suffering injuries from a blow to the head allegedly inflicted during a fight in Atlanta. Kandi's ex-fiance died as a result of severe injuries to the head at Body Tap strip club in Atlanta, Georgia. A.J. was rushed from the club which is located at 1271 Marietta Blvd to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.
"We have developed a person of interest and we've made contact with him to question him about the incident," said a police official. According to reports, A.J.'s death could be looked at as a murder and charges could be filed against individuals responsible. Motive for the strip club brawl and murder of Burruss' ex-fiance A.J. is still unclear.
"It appears he was involved in an altercation in the parking lot and he received a severe blow to the head," said Atlanta Police Lt. Keith Meadows to the local Atlanta news station.
BravoTV has yet to comment on the death of A.J. Jewell and how it will affect the current airings of "Real Housewives of Atlanta". The series is extremely popular for the network, chronicling the lives of rich housewives and their dose of daily drama.
Kandi and A.J. were featured on the show as they dealt with their relationship drama. Kandi's mother was not fond of A.J., due to the fact that he had numerous (up to 6) children with different women. Kandi however overlooked the fact that A.J. was a father to several children already, even helping him raise twin daughters that still lived at her home after couple's breakup. Kandi and A.J. official placed their engagement on hiatus at the end of September.
Burruss' publicist, Lisa Nelson, has confirmed A.J.'s death. Nelson stated that Kandi is "stunned and speechless".

my heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family at the loss of your fiancee, Ashley "AJ" Jewell. I can only imagine the pain and sorrow you are experiencing at the loss of your loved one. Please know that my prayers are with you and I pray that you will find solace in knowing that God has a plan for all of our lives, and the Lord never places more on us that he knows we can bear. You have been a refreshing addition to the cast of the Housewives of Atlanta. You bring with you a freshness and vitality that has been a attribute to the broadcast. I never miss an episode.
I am so shocked!!! She seemed very happy with him, despite what mama says. I will pray for Kandi, her daughter Remy and of course his children. What a horrible tragedy... I am so sorry..
So very sad to know that 6 kids will be without an father i dont think i could go a day knowing that i wont see my father again.

Angela, thanks for your comment but I think you're confused :) I never said anything about two deaths this week or anything about the black race.
I am so sorry for the families and love ones loss but my comment is to the writer concerning what you meant to say about the 2 deaths that took place this past week. First of all, were they the only two people in the USA that were killed recently? I don't think so, and I don't think you where were directing your comment to society but more to a color specific group. Trust me, the black race is not the only race of people that are committing crimes against themselves. Who do you think are killing all of the dead white people? It's certainly not us.
Please don't mix race with a tragedy. That was a low and cheap comment. And if you are black, God forgive you.
