Kansas City Chiefs 2008 NFL Schedule

Andy Hough
The 2008 schedule doesn't look too bad for the Chiefs, going by last year's records the Chiefs have one of the easier schedules. Although part of that comes from being in the AFC West which is playing the AFC East for the 2008 season. Other than New England the AFC East was pretty weak last year. After being 4-12 last year the Chiefs need all the help they can get. Starting off the season playing at New England isn't much help though. New England after losing only one game last year has the easiest schedule this year.

There aren't likely to be too many highlight games for the Chiefs this year. They don't have any prime-time games. All of their games are on Sunday afternoons. Their only chance for prime time is if they do better than expected and get to play in one of the late-season flex games.

One highlight of the schedule will be the opening game against Oakland. The Raiders have been the Chief's rival since the days of the AFL. The Chiefs split with the Raiders last year ending a winning streak against the Raiders. Combine the facts that the home opener is always a big game, the rivalry with the Raiders, and the Raiders' being one of the few teams as mediocre as the Chiefs last year and the stage is set for a big home opener win.

Other than that it is difficult to say that any of the games will be big games right now. If the Chiefs have improved more than most people think than perhaps the home game against San Diego in week 15 might actually have playoff of division lead implications. If that turns out to be the case then that will definitely be a big game.
