The Kansas City Museum at Corinthian Hall, a department of Union Station Kansas City, Inc. has a program called Museum Kids Summer Drop-Ins. This particular program takes places on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10-2 during June and July. It is budget-friendly for visitors because it is free.
According to their brochures, "Museum Kids summer programs are drop-ins, not drop-offs. Kids must be accompanied by an adult while here at the Museum". In other words it's not a babysitting service. That's a good thing because it presents a good time for families to be together while doing something fun.
Games, music, stories, arts and crafts, and historical themes will be the featured focus of this program. Additionally, there will be mini-workshops, storytelling and hands-on activities to keep the children happily occupied.
Themes and Dates are as follows:
June 22 and 24: Tall Tales
June 29 and July 1: Let's Make Some Music
July 6 and 8: Follow the Map to KCM
July 13 and 15: Transportation
July 20 and 22: Let's Plant a Garden
July 27 and 29: Games of Yesterday and Today
Activities will take place indoors as well as outdoors.
The Kansas City Museum at Corinthian Hall is located at 3218 Gladstone Blvd. Their phone number is 816-483-8300. More information can be found at www.kansascitymuseum.org .
With such a great variety of fun things to do, there's no reason for your children to be bored.
