We will start our tour in the Northland at Zona Rosa shopping center. This shopping center is set up like city blocks which makes it feel like it's only little town. It has all the stores you are looking for from the Gap to the Disney store. Some thing that makes this center it's own is that there are two improv theaters, they also have jazz concerts every Thursday night throughout the summer. As time goes by there will only be more to see for Zona Rosa is going to be doubling in size in the coming months. For more information about stores and hours visit their website zonarosa.com.
Second stop is Briarcliff Village which is located close to downtown Kansas City, just off Highway 169. Briarcliff has more unique shopping made up of boutiques, art galleries, and salons. For dining there is Trezo Mare Ristorante, a seafood restaurant that boast that it has fresh seafood flown in from each coast every day. You can also visit The Pastry Goddess if you would like to indulge with a sweet dessert.
Next stop is a classic tourist area known for it's history and architecture. Country Club Plaza was one of the first shopping area designed with the invention of the automobile in mind, another signature feature of the Plaza in the fountains scattered throughout. The Plaza has ritzy shopping and a lot of annual events that attract hundreds to the area. Some of the elite stores that make their home at the Plaza are Armani Exchange, Tommy Bahama and Brooks Brothers. Moving to the west of the Greater Kansas City area we head to Legends shopping center also know has the Village West. This shopping center has a lot of atmosphere. There is history within the shopping center by way of statues and sewer grates along the sidewalks that have Kansas state symbols on them, there is also always music playing in the background and you stroll along. In the center of it all is a playful fountain which is also good for penny wishes. The Legends has outlet stores as well, the Gap, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, and Lane Bryant. One of the most unique attractions for kids at the Legends is T-REX Cafe. This restaurant is full of animated dinosaurs and has a Paleo Zone where kids can dig up there own prehistoric treasures. Village West next door also has larger stores that will appeal to Mom and Dad like Cabela's and Nebraska Furniture Market. All surrounding the central shopping plaza is restaurants of all types.
Our final stop is Town Center Plaza which is located in Leawood, Kansas and is the within easy access of many Kansas suburbs that surround it. Town Center again has a wide variety of stores like Bath & Body Works, Pottery Barn and Cold Water Creek. Town Center is the only shopping centered around a department store, Macy's, there is also a large Barnes & Noble anchoring one end. There are restaurants within and surround the shopping plaza. So where ever you are in the Greater Kansas City Area you are in the right place to find some great shopping with atmosphere. No matter which destination you choose you can spend a day shopping, dining, and find entertainment by way of movie theater or beyond.
