Kanye West Comes Clean About His Involvement with the Devil; Or Does He?

Is This yet Another Metaphor or is the Truth Being Hidden in Plain Sight, You Be the Judge ..

Christopher
One of the more interesting stories circulating around the Internet involves Kanye West rapping about having sold his soul to the devil at a Kid Cudi concert in Los Angeles. Now you can add that a very, very, long list of celebrities that includes Kid Cudi, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys (I haven't heard about that one until today), Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Rihanna, himself, some even say Lil' Wayne and even others have suggested Jennifer Hudson to the few celebrities we know about to have been involved with the Illuminati. Of course Kanye West is the only artist to openly suggest that he may have done so; have I forgotten Michael Jackson, that some believe to have died because he wanted to get out of the deal? So what does all of this mean, if anything?

Well for one no one who proclaims to be a Christian should continue to listen to mainstream secular music, because we don't know for sure (well with Kanye I think it is safe to assume that we do), and because it goes against what we believe. Quite honestly, with these artists if you weren't already on the fence because of the curiously contradictory content of their lyrics your mind should be made up by now. For months now the only evidence of this were the literally thousands of videos that are circulating YouTube about this incident, in fact I have talked about this before in many of my articles that pundits would refuse to acknowledge those videos simply because they are on YouTube. Well this time it is front and center; of course pundits are quick to suggest that the whole thing is metaphorical, and Kanye merely rapping, but can it be dismissed so easily.

What I think you have here is the fact that we already do not take Kanye West seriously, and a desperate attempt by him to bring this into plain sight. Why Kanye West would come publicly with what everyone was already thinking is beyond me, and you have to wonder if there would be any repercussions for him having done so. Clearly, this would do nothing to silence the rumors of his and the aforementioned artists' involvement in what many consider to be a spiritual underworld to gain fame and notoriety. But a lot of it makes sense; he starts off with a single that was dead on arrival but then quickly moves into Jesus Walks, a single that suggests there may be some spiritually redeeming qualities about him but one that is rejected as he can never get the equivalent of a Grammy in the Gospel music industry. The single itself actually samples another choir having used part of the chorus in their own work, which in itself is somewhat blasphemous. He produces the Lucifer Son Of The Morning song for Jay-Z; which probably actually is a metaphor for something else, but then there is this endless stream of erratic behavior which suggests that Kanye West is dealing with something that only increases in its intensity after his mother dies.

You have to appreciate the messenger in this case; Kanye West is the personification of what it takes to hide something in plain sight exactly because he is not taken seriously. Pundits would rather dismiss his behavior as erratic because of his arrogance, or the fact that his mother died or whatever but there isn't anything that has come from Kanye West that is consistent with anything that Christians should subscribe to. You have to ask yourself if Kanye West simply is not playing out a premeditated, carefully laid out methodology to what people are not ready to accept otherwise. You wouldn't expect anyone to say something as crazy, bold, or direct so it has to be something else. You have already been conditioned to accept it as something else because you stopped listening to Kanye West back when he said that George Bush doesn't like Black people.

I believe Kanye West with what he says and I think that his contradictions are a farce. Of course he is upset about his mother, and of course we could have what is the ultimate metaphor but where is the metaphor in this case? A good listener and observer of hip-hop would know a good metaphor when they hear one; in this case, you rewind the tape not because this is something that is difficult to figure out, not because of the wordplay, but because you have never heard such blunt honesty before. You rewind this tape just like you rewound the tape of Janet Jackson exposing herself to America at the Super Bowl, because it is just too good to be true. If you want metaphors, Kanye has plenty of them, but I doubt that someone as intelligent as Kanye, was employing metaphors at that time ...
