Kanye West Interrupts Taylor Swift's Acceptance Speech

Kanye West should be banned from all future award ceremonies. Taylor Swift won for best female video at the MTV Music Video Awards. She walked onto stage so excited and began her acceptance speech. Kanye West then rushed the stage and took the microphone out of her hand. He then said "Taylor, I'm real happy for you. I will let you finish". Then he started saying that Beyonce should have won for best female video.

Regardless of who should have won, Kanye West should have never taken that moment from Taylor Swift. She just stood there looking at him shocked. He then handed her the microphone and she just stood there. She looked like a frightened little girl with all eyes on her. Taylor is only 19 years old. Not that that fact should matter. He should not have done this to a seasoned veteran of the industry.

He was rude and I do not know how Taylor kept it together. If it was me, I probably would have started crying. How distasteful. I honestly think Beyonce thought what he was doing was a joke, as did Taylor, at first. Then you see Beyonce's mouth drop when she realizes that it was not a joke.

The cameras showed a few audience members rise to their feet applauding for Taylor. The cameras then cut quickly to a commercial.

How cruel to take this moment from Taylor !! She will never get this back. He should be ashamed of himself. I honestly think he should be banned from all future award shows. This is not the first time he has done something impulsively.

I like Taylor Swift, but I am not a huge fan. I listen to her music when it comes on the radio. However, now, I think I might just purchase her CD in support of her for this horrible travesty that Kanye West did to her. It was not only way out of line, it was very juvenile. Why didn't someone, like a security guard, get on the stage and pull him off? I guess MTV didn't expect him to pull something like this. Really - who would think that anyone would do this? And it he was just backstage and rushed the stage, like it appeared he did, no one would have been prepared, since they obviously weren't.

What normal human being doing this? He was impolite, discourteous, bad-mannered, uncouth and plain rude !!
