Kanye's New Album: 808s & Heartbreaks

Kanye West after releasing the best-selling Grammy award winning twice platinum album, Graduation in Sept. 2007 and winning his friendly competition with fellow rapper 50 Cent, plans to release his fourth studio album. The album titled 808s & Heartbreaks was initially planned to be released in December near Christmas will now be released Nov. 24th.

Kanye West continues to break away from the norms of hip-hop. This time bringing an all new sound to his fans in an album that he says is pop. With help from the voice-altering Auto-Tune machine and the TR-808 generated drumming West plans to shake the emotions of listeners as well as exposing a complex world of love and loneliness.

West has surprised lots of music lovers with his pop and hip-hop concoction. The first single Love Lockdown was performed by West during the MTV Video Music Awards and has since grown in popularity, becoming one of the top ten songs downloaded from iTunes. The second single, Heartless has gained similar notoriety. T-Pain, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, and the mixtape sensation Kid Cudi are all featured on the album. One song on the album, Coldest Winter is about his late mother.

West has in several recent interviews expressed his loneliness and his longing to find the right woman. Fans all over the world will surely go in flocks to buy the album on the date of release, so that they can see this somber and sensitive side of West, who is constantly criticized for his overconfidence. Fans also should anticipate the album because it is sure to be jam-packed with intricate lyricisms that only Kanye West can provide.
