Kara DioGuardi Leaves American Idol

Renee Bagley
There are just three weeks until Idol executives announce the new judge replacements.

Today it was reported that Kara DioGuardi has officially left American Idol. She released a statement through Fox, in a letter where she thanks everyone for having given her a chance on the show. DioGuardi seemed to leave on good terms and wished for a good season 10 for American Idol.

It is no surprise that Kara quit. She probably didn't want to wait around for three more weeks, to see if maybe her job was still available. Who could blame her, not me. I wouldn't want to sit around while my job is potentially on the line, for three long weeks. Couldn't they have had some respect for the judges and told them their job was safe? Maybe they anticipated more people quitting? Or maybe the executives just don't give a you know what. Which is my guess.

This leaves Randy Jackson as the only remaining judge. Media speculation has pinpointed Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez as part of the new judge's panel. But still nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

I am beginning to wonder if the show can survive with all new judges. Randy Jackson was the judge with the least new advice to give contestants, and why they would keep him as the only remaining judge is beyond me. Although Jackson could easily mesh with most anyone, because he is very easy to get along with. His music credentials don't hurt either.

Steven Tyler, if he is in fact a judge, will drawn in a huge crowd of new Idol fans. He is more interesting than Paula Abdul, and with more music credentials than Simon Cowell or Kara DioGuardi. Sounds too good to be true, huh? I think so too, but I will continue to hold out hope that Aerosmith's front-man is one of the new judges.

Dream On, right!

You've really got to wonder if this show is on its way out. Nice write-up!
