Kara DioGuardi, Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres Done with American Idol

According to an article posted on Billboard.com, Kara DioGuardi has announced that she will not be making a return to American Idol for the tenth season. She has been a judge on American Idol for two seasons and she has decided not to return for an additional season of the show. It is currently unknown exactly why this decision was made, but it may have something to do with the fact that Ellen DeGeneres and Simon Cowell are not returning for the upcoming season either. If you are a fan of this reality show, the only original judge left will be Randy Jackson, that may result in some boring shows at the beginning of the new American Idol season. There has been a large amount of talk discussing possible replacements for Simon Cowell, but Fox will now need to find replacements for almost all of their current judges.

Kara DioGuardi was an asset to American Idol and a welcomed addition to the cast, she is a famous singer and songwriter and this offered some unique perspective to contestants as they progressed through the competition. It is not very often that Fox will be able to find a female as accomplished as this judge. She has also written a large amount of music for American Idol starts Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. It is expected that Kara DioGuardi will continue to write music for contestants appearing on American Idol. However, she will no longer appear as a judge on American Idol and this means Fox needs to search for a replacement. The current lineup of judges will be announced in the middle of September and the tenth season of American Idol will begin in January. It appears that this show will be able to put on a tenth season despite these setbacks, but fans should worry that the show may soon be coming to an end. Without the creation of American Idol, we would be without such talents as Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, these are two of the best female performers within the last decade.
