Kardinal Offishall Not 4 Sale: Early Album Review

Does Not 4 Sale Deliver for the Canadian Rapper?

The Reviewer
Kardinal Offishall is one of the biggest rappers and reggae artists to ever come out of Canada. For years he has been a major player in the Canadian market, however now he is poised to take over the US charts. With the support of Akon's Konvict Muzik, will Kardinal Offishall crack the American charts with Not 4 Sale?

The first single off of Not 4 Sale is Dangerous featuring Konvict Muzik label head Akon. The song has been one of the biggest tracks of the summer and Kardinal's biggest crossover hit. The song is extremely catchy.

The second single is Set It Off which teams Kardinal with The Clipse. The song features a very catchy beat and strong verses from Kardinal and The Clipse. The song is one of the best tracks on the album.

Numba 1 (Tide Is High) is a collaboration between Kardinall and Rihanna. The song will definitely be big at the clubs as it is catchy and features proven hit maker Rihanna.

Gimme Some pairs The-Dream with Kardinal. The song is fairly catchy however not one the best track on the album. The background vocals with their almost chant-like essence distract from the track.

Go Home With You features label mate T-Pain. The song features a different sounding beat and the traditional T-Pain delivered Autotune chorus. The high point of the song is the T-Pain chorus.

Due Me A Favour features R&B singer Estelle. The song shows that Kardinal is a very strong lyricist. Instead of most of the party fare on the album, this track is very socially conscious.

Fellow Canadian Glenn Lewis joins Kardinal on Family Tree (Still Eyerize). The song is grittier than most of the other songs on the album. It is refreshing to hear Glenn Lewis back in the music game after his big Don't You Forget.

Bring The Fire Out is sure to light the dance floors on fire. The song features a frantic, minimalist beat but it will definitely get you moving.

Bad Like We Bad is a reggae track that you have come to expect from Kardinal Offishall. The song has the distinctive feel and vibe that only Kardinal Offishall can deliver.

Overall Not 4 Sale is a better album than expected. The track selection and the lyrical content together, deliver a winning package. Overall Not 4 Sale gets 8 out of 10. If you are a fan of Kardinal Offishall make sure you pick up Not 4 Sale when it is available in stores on September 9th.
