Kareena Kapoor Bollywood Star Biography

Kareen Kapoor was born on September 21,1980 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India into the infamous Kapoor film family. She is the youngest daughter of actors Randhi Kapoor and Babita kapoor. She is also well known due to the fact she is the grandaughter of actor and film maker Raj Kapoor. Even though she was born into a star fated family, her father had other plans for her and her older sister Karisma. He did not wish for them to follow the family tradition of acting instead wanted them to get get married early on and fulfill the maternal duties and responsibility that woman are supposed in the family. This of course let to irreconcilable differences between her parents and the mother left the house along with both daughters.

Kareen Kapoor went to Jamnaba Narsee School in Mumbai, Welham Girls Boarding School in Dehradun, mithiba College and then attended Harvard University for a 3 month summer course and later went to Governments Law College in Churchgate. Only completing one year there she decided to go back to her initial plan and become and actress. Which led her to attend Kishore Namit Kapoor's Acting Institute. Her acting debut was made in 2000 in the drama movie Refugee. In which she got excellent reviews. Ever since Kareena Kapoor's debut she has acted in other well known bollywood movies such as Muje Kuch Kehna hai, Asoka, jab We Met, Kabhi Kush Kabhie Gham which also became the second highest grossing film in 2001.Also playing a prostitute role in Chameli which surprisingly got very positive reviews.

Besides being the lovely actress she is, Kareen Kapoor has also taken part of many humanitarian causes, such as the World Youth Peace Summit, 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake, and St. Anthony's Old Age Home.
