Karina Smirnoff Nude Playboy Pictures and Photos Shouldn't Cause Dismissal

Karina Smirnoff nude Playboy pictures and photos could lead to her dismissal from the ABC show "Dancing with the Stars." Various reports tabbed Smirnoff as the future cover girl of Playboy magazine and also reported the "Dancing with the Stars" performer will be nude within the magazine. Should that lead to her getting fired from the show?

According to People magazine, Smirnoff nude Playboy pictures and photos are on the way. In fact, the story says Smirnoff will be without clothes for the May edition of Playboy magazine. What does this mean for the "Dancing with the Stars" regular? Right now Smirnoff is dancing with former "Karate Kid" Ralph Macchio in the annual reality show competition. There have been various reports that ABC television executives are upset with the Smirnoff decision to pose nude in Playboy. In fact, those rumors go a little deeper and say that Smirnoff might actually get fired for posing in Playboy.

Should Karina Smirnoff get fired? I guess it depends on how you look at it. I am fairly sure that Smirnoff, like other television show participants, is bound by some silly television contract that prohibits her from doing any behavior that would be damaging to ABC. Does that clause in her contract specifically state that she can't be nude in a magazine or on television? It would be kind of hypocritical for ABC to fire Smirnoff when they have had several Playboy playmates on the show as "stars." In fact, it would be outrageous in my opinion and highly hypocritical. Smirnoff should be allowed to be nude if that's her choice. Only in America is a person treated like garbage for showing their body. Smirnoff isn't from America. She was born in the Ukraine where people tend to be a lot less conservative and perhaps a little more open minded. So why should she have to adhere to American rules?

If she signed a contract that prohibits her from being nude then I can completely understand why ABC has the right to fire her-even though it would be horribly unjustified from an ethical standpoint. If she has some clause that is vague then it seems incredibly odd that ABC would can her when they clearly have invited guests to dance on the show who have posed nude in Playboy on even more than one occasion.

The jury is still out on what ABC plans to do or if and when this May issue of Playboy will have the revealing nude pictures and photos of Smirnoff. Maybe the details surfacing aren't true and ABC has no such plans to oust Smirnoff for the pics. I think Smirnoff could have a great case in court if she does get fired from the show.
It would mean that the guest stars are getting preferential treatment and the regular performers are getting the shaft. How can you have Holly Madison and most recently Kendra Wilkinson on the show if your standards are beyond that of Playboy. The whole thing stinks of hypocrisy if Smirnoff gets the shaft. Here's a network that would fire a regular performer for doing the same thing that some of the invited guests have become famous for?

It just doesn't make sense. Let's hope ABC understands just how hypocritical they will look if they are even considering it. Contract or not, it's a bad move if it happens. ABC would clearly be sending huge mixed signals to America that it's okay to have a star on the show who has posed nude in Playboy but clearly not okay if you work for the company. My guess is future Playboy girls would no longer want to appear on the show. And what about Brooke Burke? Wasn't the host on the Playboy cover as well? That's just another compelling argument why ABC will not fire Karina Smirnoff. If the do-my guess is Smirnoff will have one major lawsuit against the company.
But let's not get ahead of the situation and just hope that ABC doesn't even go there.
