Kashi Margherita pizza may be fit for vegetarians, but anybody who loves a good-tasting frozen pizza that won't break the bank and offers some healthy benefits will enjoy this Kashi pizza.
Preparation
It's not recommended that you prepare Kashi Margherita pizza in the microwave, so your only option is to cook it in your conventional oven.
Preheat your conventional oven to 425 degrees. Meanwhile, take the pizza out of its box and plastic wrap and place the pizza on a baking sheet.
If you want a crispy crust, cook the pizza on the middle rack of your oven (with the pizza on the baking sheet) for 8 minutes.
If you want a softer crust, bake the pizza for 10 minutes on a baking sheet placed on the middle oven rack.
After your pizza has finished cooking, let it stand for 1 to 2 minutes before enjoying it.
Flavor
While Margherita-topped pizzas are becoming quite common on the grocer's frozen aisle, what isn't common are frozen pizzas with 9 grams of whole grains and a crust made of sesame and flax-seed. In fact, while I think the overall flavor of the Margherita topping is so-so decent (but tasty, especially considering this is a frozen pizza), what really makes this a good pizza is the distinctive crust.
I have come to like thin crust frozen pizzas, particularly because they don't have a chance to become mushy or chewy - as so many thicker-crust frozen pizzas seem to taste. However, this thin crust pizza stands out from the crowd with the sesame flavor and the flax seed. The crust really makes this pizza, and I think it's because of the wholesome and delicious blend of dough ingredients, which I have yet to see in any other pizzas.
Nutrition
Kashi Margherita pizza offers a good amount of dietary fiber and calcium. The pizza is overall quite healthy, though there is a bit of sodium (26% of your recommended daily intake), so be sure you keep that in mind if you're on a reduced-sodium diet.
