Kate Gosselin Facts

Katie Irene Kreider was born March 28, 1975 in Wernersville, Pennsylvania and is known for her role starring in the reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, which was the story which followed her and then husband Jon Gosselin as they raised their sextuplets and twins.

Kate met Jon at his company's picnic and the two tied the knot on June 12, 1999. Kate gave birth to twin girls, Madelyn Cate and Cara Nicole on October 8, 2000. Jon & Kate wanted to have another child so Kate began undergoing fertility treatments once again. They were expecting to have another set of twins but what a surprise to them when they found out that not only was Kate expected twins but she was expecting three sets of twins.

On May 10, 2004 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, Kate gave birth and her & Jon welcomed Aaden Jonathan, Alexis Faith, Collin Thomas, Hannah Joy, Joel Kevin & Leah Hope into the world.

The television reality show, Jon & Kate Plus 8 first aired on the Discovery Health channel for the first two seasons and then was picked up by TLC. The Gosselin Crew was featured on The Discovery Health channel in several specials which were centered around their lives and how they keep up with twin girls and sextuplets.

On June 22, 2009, both Jon & Kate stated to the public that they were separating and shortly after announcing the separation, Jon started the proceedings which were necessary to dissolve his marriage with Kate.

On September 29, 2009 TLC announced that they would be changing the name of the show to just Kate Plus 8, and the show would only be about Kate being a single mom raising a house full of kids and that Jon would be filmed less and only by himself or with the children but would not be filmed with Kate. Soon after this on October 15, 2009, Jon asked his lawyer to prepare a cease- and desist -order which stated that any filming of his children was prohibited and this was presented to the crew at TLC. TLC then decided to wait on changing the name of the show and if the show is never picked up and filmed and finished, then TLC said that they will air something else in the shows reserved time slot.

Kate Plus 8 is slated to air on TLC on November 2, 2009.

Kate & her 8 still reside in Wernersville, Pennsylvania and ex-husband Jon resides in New York City, New York. They share custody of the children and filed for divorce on June 22, 2009.
