Wait! Doesn't Kate have short hair? She's known for her chopped up back with longer layers that frame her face. Kate Gosselin's hair was so popular, that it was even made in to a best selling Halloween wig.
This leads one to wonder - does Kate's new hair have any symbolic meaning?
The mother of eight is embarking on a new life. One free of her husband and one also free of her lucrative TLC reality TV show series "Jon and Kate Plus 8." TLC toyed with the idea of broadcasting "Kate Plus 8", but Jon put an end to it through the court system.
Then, it was announced that she would be featured on a talk show, but then those plans seemed to go away.
So what's a mother to do in her situation? Well, if you are Kate Gosselin, you spend 20 hours and a reported $7,000 getting hair extensions put in.
Yes, $7,000 for hair. She probably can still afford it. After all, there are royalties - and she was featured on the cover of People and I highly doubt she did that for free.
Yahoo Shine even reports that the stylist that helped transform Kate's look didn't say if she paid for the hair extensions herself or not.
Why did this hairdo cost $7,000 and take 20 hours to accomplish? For blond hair, the stylist had to use Eastern European locks, which come at a high price. She also is said to have had individual hairs added all over her head.
So what do you think about Kate's transformation? I didn't even really recognize her on the cover of People. I think the long hair makes her look softer, and like less of a matriarch. She should be able to accomplish many different looks with her new locks - many more than previously with her short hair.
What does Kate call her new hair-do? Kate Clean Slate. Yes, that's right - she claims she's embarking on a new journey. There are likely hundreds of angered Kate fans that have butchered off their long hair in favor of a spiky do. Now, they will have to take out a second mortgage in order to look like their favorite reality TV show star again.

she was a better mom while the show was on...she cared more about the kids than being famous
now shes spending $7000 on a hair do and is on dancing with the stars
her kids are adorable and since the breakup i feel so bad for them!

I mean hair extensions isn't suffice to say unfit mother. Move on good on her for looking great. After 8 kids she looks great, If i could look that good after my two children I'd be happy enough
she is going to get critised for whatever she does and tabloids do we really believe rhem all?? No I think not, im not saying she has always done the right thing and she has beautiful kids but I think hair extensions is suffice to say she is an unfit mother. If in fact its disadvantaging the kids well then yes she has done something wrong but lets take a minute here...

Be a mother 1st why are you so desperate for a man, who has time. She needs to be there for the kids and don't think about getting sex come on grow up katie. your kids need you now not another dad and anther dad again please.
