Kate Hudson Engaged to Baby-Daddy Matthew Bellamy

Pregnant Kate Hudson engaged to baby-daddy Matthew Bellamy as it was officially announced Wednesday morning on the Today show. Congrats Kate and Matt!

The actress said she was "waiting for someone to ask" about her new ring. (You mean no one noticed it before now?) She says it happened about a week ago but that she didn't make a public announcement yet.

This seems very "Kate" to me. While some girls would be shouting from the rooftops and flashing that new shiny ring all over the place, good 'ol Kate was just waiting for someone to ask her about it so she could modestly express that she is madly in love.

It's exactly the sort of thing we have come to expect from Kate. Of course she knew she had the Today show appearance coming up and someone would notice then for sure.

With the size of that rock, I don't see how anyone within a mile of Kate Hudson could have not noticed the engagement but I'm happy for the couple all the same.

Hudson didn't offer specifics about the proposal but she did say, "It was very sweet. It was very romantic."

Good for you, Kate!

But the new ornament on her ring finger wasn't the only thing Kate was showing off Wednesday morning. She also proudly displayed her "baby bump" that's grown since the last time we saw her.

Kate originally confessed to trying to keep her pregnancy a secret for the first trimester, but now she has fully embraced her pregnancy as the mom-for-the-second-time gets ready for what she believes to be a baby girl, due this summer.
