Kate Middleton Did Not Put a Ring on It

In the most contemporary wedding to date, Kate Middleton did not bestow a ring on Prince William although the nuptials were that of a royal couple. Just as Kate decided not to use the word "obey" in her wedding nuptials, so did Prince William declined to wear a wedding ring. There were quite a few derivatives concerning the royal wedding that made it more of a contemporary event than a royal wedding. But the most noticeable was when Prince William did not choose to wear a wedding band as an indication of his recent marriage to the daughter of a millionaire party favor business owner.

Kate, quite the British commoner although she is from a well to do family, made the royal wedding somewhat of a contemporary event instead of making it the history making event that it should have been. Although Kate wore the royal jewels of Queen Elizabeth, that was enclosed in the face veil covering tiara, the wedding ceremony was more contemporary than royal especially when Prince William chose not to wear a wedding ring.

The wedding train of the dress worn by now the Duchess of Cambridge did not reach the royal elaboration of the wedding dress worn by Prince William's mother Lady Diana. The train although supported by her sister, was not the length that one of such royalty should have worn. There were noticeably two steps in the cathedral where the royal couple stood that indicated that the train of the wedding dress should have been longer. It is hopeful that Prince William choice not to wear the wedding ring would not have any bearing on the length of the royal wedding.

But the fact that Kate Middleton did not put a ring on it, and Prince William is not showing that he was recently married indicates that the royal wedding could have been a bit too contemporary. Surely there got to be something in the royal decree of marriage that indicates that the betrothed is now married with a show of a ring on the groom's hand. But then again, the feat of just placing the ring on Kate's finger that took more seconds than needed could have precluded that Prince William wearing a wedding ring could have been just too cumbersome as well.

Kate Middleton and Prince William wedding surely were more contemporary then royal but when Kate chose not to put a ring on it, the royal nuptials were just as 21st century as a royal wedding could get. The royal lads are known to have embarked on everyday activities such as joining the military but to choose not to wear a wedding band for the wedding of the century was contemporary and do not signal that a royal wedding did in fact take place in April of 2011.
