Kate Middleton is Warned - Do it Differently Than Princess Diana

Roz Zurko

A warning goes out to Kate Middleton not to follow in the media footsteps of Princess Diana and it comes from someone who knows all to well what Diana's fame cost her. Ken Wharfe, the late Diana's bodyguard, warns Kate not to make the media mistakes that Diana did or she too will feel the wrath of the Royal Family.

Kate Middleton's presence has already overshadowed most of the other activities and work of the elder Royals and Prince Charles has his nose out of joint over this. He has never gained the celebrity status that his late wife or his two sons have seen. Now that Kate is turning up the celebrity factor volume to high in the media, the elder Prince is stewing, according to the Times of India.

Wharfe saw what this did to Diana and how the Royal Family shunned her as she grew increasingly popular in the media. He just does not want Kate to get the same cold treatment that Princess Diana did for just being herself, much like Kate is doing today. While Kate has no control over the mass of paparazzi that follows her around, at least she knows what to expect. You might think the Royals are happy to see their newest member bring all the positive attention to the Monarchy.

Prince Charles and Camilla toured Canada two years ago and moderately small crowds came out to see them. Very little press coverage came their way and in comparison to the newlyweds latest trip, this is not sitting well with Kate's new father-in-law. When Prince William and Kate did the same tour a few weeks ago they drew mobs and the media from around the world made them headline news. This has prompted Charles to embark on a makeover, according to a Royal aid. He wants to gather enough fans so that when he has something to say, it doesn't get preempted by what color dress Kate is wearing.

Prince Charles has always been a Royal and could never come down from that spot in the Monarchy, where William and Harry are more like their mother, who embraces the common folk as much as the ©lite. Charles can dress different and get a new hair-do, but it is the attitude that really needs the makeover.
