Kate Winslet's Beauty Secrets

Celebrities, both male and female, covet secrets to their glamorous appearances. On occasion, some will spill them to magazines and that makes the rest of society very lucky. Many women think that all celebrities must buy tons of expensive makeup to look great, but in a lot of cases, that's not true. Some singers use toothpaste to heal a pimple and some actresses still brush with baking soda! It really all depends on how often you use the product/item and how you use it.

Even if the product is from Chanel, which means its price is steep, you can find a product very similar to it at a much more reasonable price. Don't get me wrong, Chanel makes wonderful cosmetics but I certainly can't afford the majority of them and I'm sure that is the same case with the average American woman. Sometimes I splurge at Sephora but even still I buy the cheapest mascara. Women feel that you have to buy the same foundation or eyelash curler to look like their idolized actress but that is definitely not true. You could buy a similar product have the same or even better results as them. And remember, they have makeup artists and hairstylists on hand! Here, I present you with a few of one of my favorite actress's beauty secrets, Kate Winslet.

Product Number One: Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler; $19

Now, I've read in a bunch of magazines, including Allure and Marie Claire, that this is the all time best eyelash curler. That may be true but my Revlon one works just dandy. Kate says: it's essential.

Product Number Two: Lancome Teint Idole Ultra; $40

I've tried a sample of this at Macy's and by god it did work wonders. I think its worth its price but I wouldn't buy it all the time. A nice substitute for me was Maybelline's Age Rewind. Kate says: It provides coverage but its light weight and it has staying power.

Product Number Three: Jillian Dempsey for Avon Eyeshadow Trio in Pebble Wash; $9

I sell Avon and I can personally say this eyeshadow is a good buy but I just wish it was cheaper. The colors are a tan, cream color, and reddish brown shade, and a mauvey color. A similar, powder trio can be found at Avon, for much cheaper. Kate says: She leaves all her red-carpet makeup duties to Jillian.

Product Number Four: Shu Uemura Blotting Papers; $12

I've come to love blotting papers because I sweat a lot during the day and they absorb the oil without ruining my makeup. Paying twelve bucks for these though, is not worth it. Buy them at E.L.F for $1. Kate Says: Jillian recommended them to her.

Product Number Five: Serge Lutens Lip Crayon in Nude; $55

Way too steep for a lip pencil! I have never heard of this brand, either. Stay smart and buy one from N.Y.C.

Product Number Six: The Body Shop Lip Butter; $8

Yummy stuff, I must admit. You can buy a tub of the same size but different brand at GNC. Kate Says: She uses it on her kids.
