Kathy Griffin Didn't Curse on CNN New Year's Eve, but Sushi Did

Kathy Griffin Abstains from Cursing
Kathy Griffin, perennial potty-mouthed co-host of CNN's "New Year's with Anderson Cooper" made a running joke of attempting to swear during the live broadcast, but refrained. The comedian revealed in interviews that CNN would not just fire and demand the paycheck back from Griffin if she cursed for the third year in a row, she would be immediately taken off of the air.
It's hard to say if Griffin was joking or telling the truth about her New Year's contract specifics. Anderson Cooper was hard to read. It was unclear if he was indicating the restrictions were true or just playing along. Cooper did make it a point to show a "No Swearing" sign to the camera.
Griffin Didn't Completely Clean Up Her Act for New Year's
That's not to say Kathy Griffin was all professionalism during the special broadcast. She often punched Anderson Cooper in the stomach, made double entendres about balls, tried to undress Cooper and announced many musical guests that were not present. These included Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and Ray Charles.
The broadcast was classic Cooper/Griffin back-and-forth, with Anderson seeming a little more poised this year. Griffin was still able to bring out the host's giggle, though.
Drag Queen Sushi Swears, Stealing Griffin's Show
Thanks to drag queen Sushi, the tradition of swearing on "New Year's with Anderson Cooper" was also upheld. CNN's John Zarrella reported live from Key West, Florida's Bourbon Street Pub as Sushi was lowered at midnight in a huge red stiletto.
Lounging by the ruby high heel afterwards, Zarrella asked Sushi what she was thinking as the shoe lowered. To which the woman impersonator replied, "I was thinking, Godd*mn it, thank God I'm not Gloria Vanderbilt's son..."
Surprisingly, the cameras didn't immediately cut back to Times Square. Zarrella turned to banter with the 'Cher' drag queen on his left. But the GDI bomb was dropped, effectively stealing Kathy Griffin's shtick and thunder. Not that it kept Cooper from covering her mouth for the last moments of their New Year's special.

Post a CommentThe destiny might be creepy looking, but it is up for modification, time travel is not a reality, it is a sensation based on corrections, if part of the yogurt is still milk, it is two different time zones, the only way to turn the entire thing into milk is to ensure that milk is aware of yogurt's presence.
milk is aware of yogurt's presence, infact milk has a plan to convert the yogurt into delicious milk very soon.
if yogurt has any objections to this, .. well it will have objections to it, it always does.. it just does not know how to stop not having objections to it.
no worries, milk is the winning formula here.
one way or another milk will go to japan and sell them kurdish shish kebab.
we do have a few issues with yogurt here on the west side, but it is turning into milk just as expected.
but we demand that the yogurt turns into milk completely, otherwise japan gets the kurdish shish kebabs not the yogurt....

Apparently saying bullshit is okay, because CNN included the word in a Robert Novak tribute when the late rightwingnut dropped the bullshit word and walked off the set of some political show.

I am disappointed in Anderson, for lowering himself to kathy's presence. CNN and Anderson are losing reputations. Why don't they find someone else to host with him?
A phenomenal show. She was professional when she punched him. Don Rickles professional. She is designed to make the viewer uncomfortable and laugh. He is a great straight man. Think god an alternative to Ray Ramono, Bill Cosby vanilla style comedy. Bravo, Great show.

I used to watch Anderson cooper 360, but now he has
lowered himself to be with Kathy.
I dislike her immensely.
The only thing outrageous was "Sushi's" comment about Anderson Cooper....apparently she's bothered because he won't come out publicly. So snarky....way to play to sterotypes. No one seemed to catch this comment.
I watched the NYE show on dvr and as they came in from a break, you can hear Kathy say "bullshit." It was between a commercial for Piers Morgan's show and the NKOTBSB banter.
These people are adults? CNN wanted her to do something outrageous,otherwise, they would not have asked her back. Can't believe Anderson agreed to host with her. He and CNN are losing credibility. I would think he would know the difference between intelligent comedy and juvenile silliness.
