Katie Holmes' Rendition of Jackie Kennedy Will See the Light

Superstar and Tom Cruise spouse Katie Holmes played the part of Jackie Kennedy in "The Kennedys," a new miniseries created for the History Channel. Unfortunately for Holmes, the History Channel refused to air the show. Now, though, the ReelzChannel has picked it up, and it appears that the Kennedy faithful and Kennedy-haters alike will be treated to a very long telling of the Kennedy story.

The Kennedys miniseries, starring Katie Holmes, was directed by Joel Surnow (of "24" fame), who is regarded as a political conservative. It seems that Surnow might have made his rendition of the Kennedy story a little too conservative for the powers that be at the History Channel. The Kennedy family reportedly took steps to urge the History Channel to dump the Katie Holmes show, presumably because they feared that the portrayal of their family would not be flattering. Inevitably, though, another channel came forward to air the show. Independent cable channel ReelzChannel has agreed to air the miniseries some time this spring. [Source: Macatee, Rebecca. Now, of course, the show will be a must-watch for conservatives. And, grudgingly, a good number of liberals will probably watch, as well. We are all curious to see what horrible things The Kennedys miniseries will reveal about JFK and Katie Holmes' character, Jackie.
