Katrina

Lee Hartsell
Mandatory evacuations were called.
Many did not evacuate New Orleans though.
People ignored the warnings. Levies broke.
Day after day water filled the streets.
People appeared out of the water.
They walked to the Superdome.
Some people died from no water or food.
Women and children were raped in the Superdome.
People sat on houses and held up signs that said,
"Help us."
I was drawn to my knees that day, as I watched the
people appear in the flooded streets.
Convoys' of trucks, buses, and boats arrived on the
4th day, after the Hurricane hit.
Policemen turned their guns on themselves, because
they felt helpless. There was rioting in the streets.
Houses were demolished. Casinos' were picked up and
moved across the streets.
Millions of dollars were lost daily from sinful Casinos'.
Christian people helped with Bibles, prayer, food, water,
and other supplies. The ACLU protested, when the Christians
helped. It is hard to believe that less than 2000 people
were killed. Many refugees were transported to other areas
all over the U.S.A. to live.
