Katrina Burgess should not be alive. Remember that the next time to see her beautiful face in the middle of an advertisement on the side of a bus or on the internet somewhere.

While traveling to a party back in January, Katrina Burgess was involved in an auto accident which nearly killed her. She received multiple broken bones, broken back and neck, and needed 11 titanium pins to keep her body together, according to a story by the UK Telegraph.

She must have some powerful inner strength because she "amazed medics by taking her first steps days after" the final operation, per a report by The Sun.

Becoming a Model

The British 17-year-old teenager could have watched the rest of her life slip away but she found a way to come back and now enjoys the exciting opportunity to enter the glamorous world of supermodels. Her new modeling company is reported to be BASE Modeling of London.

According to BASE's website, the agency hopes to "successfully contract models for work within the advertising, design, television, fashion and magazine industries." As of the date of this article, new model Katrina Burgess did not yet have a publicly-available profile on the BASE website, but if she does in the future then it will probably be located and searchable in the BASE Female Models section of the website.

San Francisco Bay Area Spine Centers

What if an auto accident happened in the San Francisco Bay Area in California like the one that happened to Ms.Burgess? One has to wonder if the locals in this area would be able to have the chance at a successful recovery and rehabilitation that Katrina has had. Luckily, there are some excellent spine-care facilities in San Francisco.

The San Francisco Spine Center of Saint Francis Memorial Hospital offers a broad range of medical services related to spine injuries including surgical interventions. They are located at 1199 Bush Street in San Francisco, California, USA.

Also, the UCSF Spine Center is available and treats thousands of patients a year with a focus on disk disease, deformities, trauma and fractures. The center is located on the campus of the University of California, San Francisco.

Keep Smiling

The story of how young Katrina Burgess not only survived a deadly crash but emerged from it with a modeling contract is inspiring beyond belief. It goes to show that in life you never know what is around the next corner. Even if you are facing tragedy or difficult times these days, always remember that something good is waiting for you and could surprise you this very day.

You may not get a modeling contract like Katrina Burgess. You may get something even better so keep your chin up and move onward and upward.
