Katy Perry Marries Russell Brand in India

Katy, Katy married lady, what will your married life with Russell Brand be like? It is quite the daring act to marry a professional comedian. Let's hope Katy Perry and Russell Brand had a fabulous wedding and have a lifetime of love and laughter.

The always romantic couple, Katy and Russel have married at the Aman-i-Khas resort located in India, which is near the Ranthambhore tiger sanctuary, notes Radar Online.

A Hindu Wedding Ceremony

Katy and Russel got engaged in Jaipur, India on January 1, 1010. They had a Hindu wedding ceremony. The couple followed some Indian marital traditions, such as having the hands painted in intricate designs with henna and moving around a sacred fire seven times.

Russell Brand was also going to bend down to touch his hands to the feet of Katy's parents, which symbolizes respect in a Hindu wedding, notes the Telegraph. And Katy was seen wearing a nath in the airport while arriving for the wedding. A nath is a nose ring with a chain attached that goes to the hair, notes the Daily Mail.

P Diddy & Rihanna are Wedding Guests

Security was high outside the wedding area. Katy and Russel always attract a media circus wherever they are. Also, high level wedding guests included P Diddy and Rihanna were expected to attend the wedding, thus raising the media frenzy to an extreme.

P Diddy was expected to sing during the wedding reception. And Rihanna is a bridesmaid for Katy. She hosted a bachelorette party for Katy in Las Vegas.

Wedding Site: Ranthambore National Park in India

Russel Brand seemed ready for marriage. He told MTV "Marriage takes place in the heart. So in that sense, we are already married." Sounds like Katy has tamed the wild man Russell. It will be fun to watch the antics of this couple as they begin their married life.

Katy wore a wedding dress designed by Reem Acra, a Lebanese American designer. Her engagement ring was created by Hanut Singh of India, notes the Hindustan Times. Katy Perry always has a unique fashion style. It will be fun to see the wedding pictures once they are released.
