Kaylee Anthony (Caylee) and How You Can Help
Kaylee Didn't Get Justice in Court, but Make Her Death Mean Something
Now that the Casey Anthony trial is over, it is time to reflect on the entire trial and what it really means to people. People are up in arms about the verdict. They have every right to be. The circumstantial evidence was so strong that there is no reason the jury could not have come back with a verdict of guilty. Many people are left to wonder what happened in that room. The jury was not out very long. They seemed determined to vote their way without letting all the media hype get in the way. Kudos to them for that, but in the interest of reality, there could have and should have been a verdict that would at least lower the charges to avoid the death penalty, if that is why they voted that way.
What would I have done in the same instance? You probably don't want to know. I am going to tell you anyway. Had I been on that jury, Casey might have still walked, for the time being. It wouldn't have been because she was found not guilty though. It would have been because there was a hung jury. I will tell you why. If the other jurors felt so strongly that there wasn't enough evidence, I would have to argue that. There was plenty of evidence and to ignore all of that in lieu of the fact they couldn't prove how the baby died is a cop out. I would have held fast to my decision until there was no argument left. The jury would have come back hung and they could have at least tried the case again.
It shocked nearly everyone around the nation as they listened to the not guilty verdict being read. There are people who support Casey Anthony, although you would be hard put to actually find any of them. News of book deals and porn flicks are all over the internet. The porn flick is out though. Apparently, pressure from the citizens of the United States put a halt to the entire idea and the offer was withdrawn. Pressure from the people who can make or break a company, even a porn flick company, is enough to stop any idea in its tracks. If the money isn't there, they don't want anything to do with it. I am so proud that the people of the United States have the morals and standards to stop Casey Anthony in her tracks.
I know that I am fighting a losing battle with those who say the jury made the right decision. Yes, that is how the justice system works. As we all know, it doesn't always work the way it should. Criminals go free and innocent people get locked up. It's a topsy turvy system at times. There is more than topsy turvy in this decision though.
I didn't hear the entire trial. I did hear enough to believe that Casey Anthony should not have been set free on those charges. Duct tape, the duct tape alone is a reality. The defense said that the tape was placed on Kaylee after she was already dead? This defense made no sense at all to me or millions of other people. Then they said the duct tape was used on the bag that Kaylee was placed in to dispose of her body? Um, no. The duct tape was on her mouth. That is what happened to that poor and helpless child as her mother looked her in the eyes as she smothered to death. What did Kaylee see and feel? We will never know that. Kaylee is gone. The person she most trusted is the person she couldn't trust at all.
As for the drowning, BULL! She didn't drown. Where were all the adults when this toddler fell into the pool? I am not saying that children don't drown. It happens every single day. However, where were all these adults? And why would Casey lie and say that a nanny had kidnapped her little girl knowing full well there was never a nanny to start with? There was a woman with the same name and even the address was correct. Casey did her homework, that's for sure. Why would Casey so elaborately find out information on someone to lie about them. This poor woman never even met Casey, let alone became a nanny for her daughter.
Casey even lied about where she worked. It does not take a genius to figure out that the police are going to check out your story and find out that you are lying. That is their job! Why such an elaborate plan if this were only an accident? Because it wasn't an accident. It was planned out. Casey wanted her daughter dead so she could be free to do whatever she wanted to do. She got to do that for several months until the body of her lifeless daughter was found. The body was thrown in a plastic bag and dumped in the woods like an old piece of garbage. Animals got to her and they tore her body apart. Granted, this wasn't physically painful for the child. She was already dead when it happened. How disgraceful is it for someone to do that to you though? How demeaning a burial is that? It's pretty bad and for a parent to do that should be criminal in and of itself.
People are very passionate about this case. Eventually, it will dwindle down and people will move on with their lives. Hopefully, there will be enough people who continue to fight for Kaylee's Law, a bill in the works to make it illegal if parents do not report a missing child within a 24-hour period. Hopefully, there will be enough people that say no to any books, movies or interviews that will benefit this family. Hopefully, enough people will realize that the fund set up by Casey's parents is not what it appears to be, at least at this point in time. Hopefully, no man will be dumb enough to father a child with Casey Anthony. She does not deserve another child, even if she didn't kill Kaylee. She was irresponsible as all get out in never reporting her daughter missing, being out partying as though nothing happened and then to lie to the police about another person being responsible for what she herself did.
The ball was dropped on this big time and that lies solely with the jury. They dropped the ball and let Kaylee Anthony down. They did what they thought was right according to the law, I suppose, but I could have never walked out of the courtroom knowing that I had ignored the obvious fact that this woman killed her baby and I let her go free. Maybe that makes me someone who would be a bad juror, but I do not care. It would not have happened. It would not have happened in a million years. They didn't even leave it open to be retried later. They shut it down completely. It doesn't matter now, that is all over.
What can you do to help? You can avoid purchasing anything or watching anything that will profit the woman who threw her daughter away, literally. You can sign the petition for Kaylee's Law and bring it to the attention of congress. Let them know that not reporting your child missing is a crime and should be one on the books. Remember all the other children who suffer at the hands of their very own parents because Kaylee represents each and every one of them. The most important thing that you can do to help is to treat your own children with love and care. Hug them every day, no matter how bad they are. Sometimes kids can get on our nerves, but they are the most precious gift you will ever receive in your life. God trusts you with the care of your children, so take it seriously. You have to answer to Him someday about how you treated your children.
As for Casey Anthony, she will get what she deserves. God knows what He is doing and this is what was supposed to happen. God will take care of it and that is the final answer. She has already been given the max sentence the judge could give her, including $4000 in fines. She is going to be tracked and haunted by the IRS for the rest of her life. She can't even get a job in a porn flick, she is being sued for defamation of character by the supposed nanny and most people in the United States will never forget her face, not a good thing for Casey.
Casey's lawyer said that Kaylee wouldn't want her mother dead. To him, all I have to say is that Kaylee, likely wouldn't have wanted to die herself either. Then again, Kaylee was only two years old. She needed guidance from her mother to make the right decisions. Now she is counting on the rest of the world to make the right decisions about her mother. There is little sympathy for this woman. She has burnt all her bridges as far as I can tell. I am all for truth, justice and the American way. It sure can disappoint me at times though. This is one of those cases. There was no justice in that courtroom for Kaylee. I've a feeling there will be justice in the real world when Casey is released from prison. Karma is her likely companion for the rest of her life. Let's hope it is a long and miserable one.
Side note- The spelling for Kaylee is sometimes Caylee. I am not sure which is right. I have seen both. It is Kaylee on television reports and Caylee on a lot of online venues. Either way, it is the same person.
