Not all of us are blessed to be living in warm climates during the winter. Some of us turn our thermostats way up and still feel the chill. If you're one of the ones who live in these cold climates you've probably said to yourself "I'm freezing", one too many times and with your heater going full blast your running out of ideas to keep your home warm. Don't worry there might be help for you here.

A few things you might want to look into are your doors and windows. Starting at your windows, are they double paned windows? If you don't have double paned windows you're losing a lot of warm air to the great outdoors. If you don't want to get double paned windows immediately to stop the draft, then go down to your local hardware store and pick up some plastic for windows. There are all different types, ones you can tape on ones you can stick on and then blow try till they seal. What ever type you decide use you're going to find a huge difference in the temperature of your home.

You might be losing heat through the bottom of your door. It might not be sealed properly, one thing you can do immediately to stop cold air from coming in is to roll up the towel lengthwise to your door and pushing up against the bottom of your door. You can do this on each door that is going outside. Once you've fixed up your windows with plastic and you've covered the bottom of your doors you should start seeing a big difference in the temperatures of your home.

Another way to stay warm this winter is to think about what your wearing around the house. Make sure you have some thick socks on and a nice warm sweater you will begin to see a difference very fast. At night time before you jump and your bed add a nice warm quilt and keep a clean pair of socks on to help keep you warm.

There are many types ways to keep warm during the winter if it's too late to fix your windows and doors try what we have talked about above. Not everybody has a fireplace but if you have a fireplace then use it early in the daytime so it can warm up your home throughout the day and into the evening. Try few of these simple techniques and I'm sure your winter is going to be a little warmer in your home.
