The Wednesday and Friday before the week of lessons is reserved for a swimmer evaluation to determine which class your child needs. The Conroe Recreation Center is a wonderful place to take your family. Call facility for schedule. You can register online for classes. Fees start at $30 depending on whether you live inside the city limits or not. With two locations, the Conroe Recreation Center and the Oscar Johnson Center, there are plenty of classes available. On Lake Conroe, in the April Sound community, swim lessons are offered as well. A member of the Club Corp family, April Sound Country Club offers many amenities. Schedule is set during the summer for all skill levels. Along with the 27 holes of gorgeous golf right on the lake and 12 tennis courts, April Sound Country Club also has three swimming pools. Built in 1972, the facility recently had a fire that destroyed much of the country club, but they have rebuilt and are bigger and better.
