Keep Your Distance

Megan Massey
Can you dream, to escape the pain
Can you clean, to rid yourself of the stain
I've left on your soul, a scar that bleeds
Because I could not, fulfill your needs
The phone dangles, on the winding cord
A sit here numb, trying to absorb
The constant ringing, in my ears
I have hurt you, my worst fear
Run away, save yourself
Leave me lying here, on a shelf
Bleeding, though it isn't blood
The substance is thicker than mud
I can never again be whole
For my body is shedding its soul
Run while you can, never look back
Leave me in your dreams, where I cannot attack
For your pain, is what feeds the hunger within
The glee it brings, is my every sin
I cannot feel, so numb, its true
Keep your distance, I don't want to hurt you

Well, to be short. Which is funny because I am rather short. Ok I digress. I live in the central/southern part of the US. I enjoy writing, and singing, and I almost have the american dream.  View profile
