Keep Dry While Looking Chic

Zebra Print Style

Rebecca Bardelli

When it rains it pours which could mean drenched clothing, ruined shoes, soggy socks and soaked hair. This won't happen if you take my fashion advice. Not only will you be dry you will do so looking chic. When it rains I don't bother to blow dry my hair since I figure it will end up wet, wasting my time. When I was a teenager I loved the rain. Thinking back, I remember an occasion when I persuaded my mom to join me for a walk in the rain. She thought it was impractical for me to go strolling in the midst of a downpour. My walk under the clouded sky was a moment I will never forget. It made me feel carefree and lively, I am ready to love the rain again. Let's take a look at how we can enjoy the rain while keeping dry and looking desirable. Zebra print is one of my favorite animal prints and will serve as the focus of my rainy day fashion faves. We will look at ways to keep dry in zebra print without neglecting to accessorize for fun.

Zebra Print Wind-Resistant Full-Size or Compact Umbrella, $27.99 at Linens-N-Things

This stylish umbrella includes a matching slipcase, automatic-open button, non-slip handle and features windproof technology. Not to mention, the winsome zebra print pattern. What more could one want from an umbrella? I can't think of anything this umbrella doesn't offer.

Women's Zebra Rain Boots-Black/Silver, $32.99 at Target Online or $44.95 at DSW

When looking for rain boots to keep your feet dry this mid-calf zebra print boot is fit for you, so long as you wear a size 6-10. For rain boots, I must say these are stunning. The fact that the print is silver and black is perfect for those wanting to paint their fingernails a shimmering silver. These waterproof rain boots with a cushioned insole include a side buckle for added charm. Buy them online at Target or in store at DSW.

Long Sleeve Sequin Stripe Tee by Michael Kors, $69.99 on Sale at Macy's

While this trendy shirt is not marketed as a zebra print, it matches perfectly with the black and silver rain boots. Keep warm and cozy in this stunning gray shirt featuring black stripes made of sequins. I love this shirt because it can be worn casually or dressed up with extravagant shoes and jewelry, giving it a more formal appearance.

Women's Regular Solid Sun Shower Coat, $74.99 at Lands' End

Not only is this coat waterproof, it is soft and wrinkle resistant. I recommend purchasing it in black so you can wear it with anything, including your zebra print attire. Zebra print is fabulous but you don't want to limit your options when it comes to a coat. This sun shower coat is available in sizes 1-12.

"Tamara" Zebra Print Croco Embossed Patent Leather Handbag by Madi Claire, $76 at Shop NBC

This is the perfect zebra handbag as it is 80 percent leather and 20 percent vinyl. Patent leather is virtually waterproof making this handbag trendy and smart. Black and white zebra print is covered with embossed patent leather in black or bronze, with red coming soon. This handbag is fab as it is the perfect size, not too large nor too small.

JT Intimates Hipster, Zebra Cotton and Lace, $7.50 at Macy's

Add some zebra print and lace under your clothes with zebra and lace lingerie. Let the animal in you come out in black with a splash of white, turquoise, purple or fuchsia. My fave is the traditional black and white, with purple coming in at a close second. Since they are 5 for $25, I don't have to choose.

Charter Club Necklace, Zebra Pendant, $34 at Macy's

Complete your look with this dazzling necklace, bejeweled with glass gems.

H2W Unisex Zebra Print Fashion Belt, $12.79 at Overstock.com

These bright zebra print belts are sure to compliment any pair of jeans. These faux leather belts are available in midnight black with pink, purple, blue or green.

You and I are ready to keep dry in style. What can I say about zebra print other than, love it! I hope you love it too. Happy shopping!

Living in Florida and during the "rainy season", I don't bother with an umbrella any more. For one thing, it's usually lightning along with the rain. My hair is naturally curly----so much for "bad hair" days!
I love your suggestions though---- my hubby keeps a huge umbrella in my car---but it's always in the back---by the time I get out of the car, and around to the back, I could have been inside!
    Great info!
