Cold Weather and Indoor Fitness

During the cold weather seasons, it is very hard to stay fit. It is often too cold to get outside and enjoy our normal healthy outdoor sports. Here is a guide and tips for staying active in cold weather seasons. Keep fit this Winter! Try these indoor activities.

Turn on the TV. Hey, that is an enjoyable indoor thing to do, right? Right. I am not finished, though. Now, turn the TV to a home workout show. It is that easy. Follow along with the exercises. Join in with the TV fitness program. You can choose a yoga show, an athletic workout show or even an aerobics class TV show to watch. But, don't just watch. Participate. If you have cable TV, there is always a sports and exercise show on some channel that you have. Use your TV to bring you help with staying active in cold weather seasons. Consult your local TV listings web site or TV program listings and discover all of the free at home workout shows that are available to you! You do not have to leave the house or brave the cold weather. You can even reward yourself with a cup of hot chocolate afterwards. One of the many very fun indoor activities that you can try!

Go to the Mall. The Mall, you say? Yes. The Mall. No, you do not have to shop or even spend a dime. Visiting your local indoor Mall allows you to walk in a heated environment. Lots of room to walk and things to see. I see many people doing this and it is great. In the Winter months, when outdoor walking is impossible, the Mall will give you a huge walking area, free of charge. Walk slow, walk fast but, walk. Tips for staying active in cold weather seasons do not have to cost you one penny. This tip is a favorite Winter sport of mine. One of many indoor activites. A walk through the Mall will burn off those holiday calories! Just remember to walk quickly right by the food and dessert areas. Ignore them. Reward yourself with a nice cup of coffee afterwards.

Get on the web. That's fun and you most likely like to do this tip anyway. Now, Google a web site for free exercises, yoga tips and indoor work out plans. Voila! There are plenty of indoor exercises at your fingertips and they are all free. Warm up, breathe deeply and move. It is that easy.

The house workout. Now, this one is fun and the whole family can get involved. Cleaning a house is strenuous exercise. Tackle those closets for cleaning during the Winter months. Assign each family member a closet to clean and organize. Not only can you gather up enough unwanted clothes to give to Goodwill for charity, you can find things that you may not have seen in a few years. Maybe even some of your own things that were perhaps missing. You wondered where that went, didn't you? Now, you know! This can indeed be a fun indoor activity!

This guide and tips for staying active in cold weather seasons will help you keep fit this Winter. Staying warm and active helps you keep healthy! Happy holidays to you!
