A good thing to do during the Christmas Holiday is to spend time with your family sharing the spirit of the season. You can invite friends and relatives to make it merrier. Try to organize games for the whole family to enjoy.
Here are some Christmas games we usually play during Christmas:
Trip to Jerusalem
Mechanics:
-There should be at least 2 teams, each team should have at least 10 members
-Each team should have their own equal props (dress, hat, sunglasses, handy bag, purse, umbrella, sandals)
-2 posts for each teams to turn around
-Posts should be at least 20-30m away from both teams
-Each team member should be able to wear the props that they have and raise to the post going back to the next person in the line
-The next in line should undress the person ahead of him the moment he arrives, should wear the props, and then rush to the post again and returns to the next person in line.
-The team who had all their members play and finishes first wins
We usually burst out in laughter seeing our father wear the props that should supposedly be for women. Always been one of my personal favorites.
The Longest Line
Mechanics:
-The game should have a minimum limit time of 5 minutes.
-At least 2 teams with 10 members each
-Each team should compete to make longest line during the allotted time limit.
-Each team could only use what they have at hand (handkerchief, wallet, shoes, watch, jeans if ever they are wearing shorts, t-shirt, the members themselves)
-Each team should connect one item to another making the longest line (members could bridge themselves or connect themselves to make the line longer
-The team that has the longest line wins.
The boys usually stripped down to the very last underwear they were wearing just to make the longest line. That made it a lot more fun and exciting.
Blow the Candle
Mechanics:
-Ten pairs or more, preferably boy and girl per pair
-Each pair should have a lighted candle
-Once the music starts each pair should hold their hands with the candle in between, and start the hunt of blowing the candles of other pairs while dancing.
-The only pair that remains with their light on wins
Girls should tie their hairs up to avoid burns
That's my Apple
Mechanics:
-Ten pairs, preferably boy and girl per pair
-An apple for each pair
-Apple should be hang to certain line
-Contestants are not allowed to hold the apple with their hands nor touch it with other parts of their body except their mouth.
-The first pair to consume their apple without violation wins
Make sure that you provide the contestants with the biggest apple to make it difficult for them to bite the apple right away in that way it will be a lot more challenging and fun.
Who can give me?
-Everyone is invited to participate
-Facilitator should always say "who can give me" (ex. Who can give me a brown handkerchief? Or who can give me a sock with holes?)
-The firs to present to the facilitator what she is looking for wins a certain prize
Always have prizes set aside for each game so everyone will be eager to participate.
