Keep Your Home Safe While on Vacation

Keep your home safe
The following are precautionary measures that you can take, before your family goes on vacation, to keep your house safer from burglary. These things that you can do, help if there has been a unknown person in your area for awhile, whether you knew it or not.

Lights
One step you can take to keeping your home safe is that if you turn on your lights at specific times everyday in your house, put the lights on a timer. If a person sees that certain lights are coming on they will think that you are home.

Spare House Key
Do not leave your spare house key outside. The big rock is not fooling anybody anymore because it is so commonly used these days. If you are going to have someone come to your house and get the mail for you and take care or your animals for you, if you have animals, give them the spare key directly.

The Look Of Your Home
If you normally leave your curtains pushed back from your windows, you should leave them that way when you go on vacation. The same goes for blinds, if they are normally open or closed, leave them the normal way when you go on vacation.

Other Information
Any difference in your house that is out of the norm, to somebody that has been watching your home, say a person that is looking to rob your home, will notice the differences and will know that you are not home.

As a note: These are just a few precautionary measures that you can take to help keep your house from being the victim of a burglary.

One last thing that can help is if you have a garage, have the person that is coming to take care of your animals and get your mail park their car in the garage when they come so that your gagrage is being used and cars are leaving and coming in and out of your garage,
