One of the most amazing volunteering opportunities that I've ever had the pleasure to participate in was the Kids In Danger organization. Kids In Danger is a non-profit organization that helps ensure the safety of children by helping to improve children's product safety.

The organization, located at 116 West Illinois, Suite 5E in Chicago's River North neighborhood, has a ton of volunteer opportunities available, but the one I enjoyed most was the fundraiser opportunity. Fundraising for Kids in Danger allowed me to utilize my own creativity to raise funds for the program, in a variety of ways. If you want to be a fundraiser, however, they would prefer that you have fundraising experience, but it's not required.

Other volunteer opportunities available include helping with tech support, where you should have IT experience, public relations volunteering and working in the office. I also helped out in the office, doing computer work, answering the phones and helping out with general clerical work, such as filing.

Some of the volunteer work is done right out of their office and others such as fundraising are done both in the office and out. They are usually pretty flexible on the hours, but some opportunities do require a certain amount of hours per week.

If you want more information on how you can volunteer for Kids in Danger, call 312-595-0649, or check out their website.
